In late November, well-known environmental attorneys Heloisa Verri Paulino Gomes and Adriana de Paiva Correa announced the launch of their new law firm, Verri Paiva Advogadas.Ms. Verri has over 20 years of experience in the legal market, having previously advised top-tier companies on environmental law issues, as she specializes in complex litigation matters related to contaminated areas, protected areas, environmental accidents, waste management and licensing. She has previously worked at renowned law firms, such as Trench, Rossi e Watanabe, Cescon, Barrieu, Flesch & Barreto Advogados, Tabet Advogados, Gasparini, Nogueira de Lima e Barbosa Advogados and Linklaters, as well as at food and beverage giant Pepsico. Academically, she holds a Bachelor of Laws, a postgraduate degree in consumer relations and a Master’s in environmental law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), as well as a postgraduate degree in environmental law from Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
Ms. Paiva, in her turn, brings over 15 years of experience in the environmental law market, having previously worked at distinguished law firms such as Pinheiro Neto Advogados, Cescon, Barrieu, Flesch & Barreto Advogados, TozziniFreire Advogados, Tabet Advogados, Gasparini, Nogueira de Lima e Barbosa Advogados, as well as interned at CETESB (Environmental Agency of the State of São Paulo). Academically, she holds a Bachelor of Laws and a postgraduate degree in civil procedural law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) and has undertaken an environmental management course from SENAC.
